Hillier Garden Centre, Chichester

Nigel Budgen has been the Manager of Hillier Garden Centre, Chichester for two years.  Previously Nigel was the Manager of our Romsey store.



Located on the old A27 between Fishbourne and Emsworth, Hillier Garden Centre Chichester is a prime example of what the company does best. With a comprehensive range of largely home grown hardy garden plants, our aim is to offer the best possible quality products and customer service. In addition to our fantastic range of hardy garden plants we also stock an extensive selection of seasonal bedding suitable for any aspect, backed up with a great range of outdoor containers including frost proof and frost resistant glazed and unglazed pots.
 
 

Our Plant Area specialises in cottage garden plants such as roses, clematis and herbaceous perennials along with a wide selection of suitable subjects for coastal planting. With the Grow your Own aspect of gardening becoming an ever important feature in most households, take a look at our Kitchen Garden display in the main outdoor sales area, showing innovative ideas for producing good home grown food in any space.

We are also stocking a new range of timber products from M & M Timber, a quality UK manufactured range of fencing and decorative screening. View the recently installed Classic thatched hexagonal Gazebo, an absolute must for those outdoor cocktail parties on long summer evenings…. Imagine you are away in some exotic location like Bhali. 

The store has undergone many improvements over the last few years, with the most recent work being the refurbishment of our coffee shop Café Poplar, completed last year. The menu is freshly prepared on site by Martin and his team with daily specials to suit any taste. With excellent home cooked food served to a very high standard it is great place to meet friends and family… open from 9am until 4.30pm daily, Sundays 10am until 4pm.

The shop interior has been improved this last winter to include “Shops within a shop”.
We have a new enlarged bird and wildlife care section stocking products from Hedgehog boxes to a variety of wild bird feeds designed to attract all kinds of exotic wildlife to your garden.

An improved houseplant area is now stocking an exciting range of “Sand and Glass”. These colourful and highly decorative items make an excellent gift for any household and require very little maintenance. Our themes this year are all designed to enhance your home and create that perfect ambience to aid rest and relaxation. Our new Food Court, en-route to Café Poplar, has a good selection of jams and preserves, specialist pasta products and tasty sweets for the discerning pallet. 
 

Our Leisure and Lifestyle area now includes a range of quality indoor furniture from Shropshire Oak. This is superbly crafted and durable and will enhance the interior of any home. Our outdoor range includes a new selection of resin weave which can be left outside all year round…. and look great next to a swimming pool or just on the patio.

Being conveniently located close to the M27 means access to our nurseries in Hampshire is quick and easy, thereby ensuring that our plants are literally “Nursery fresh”. We also are able to help with Semi-mature tree stock - something Hillier is world reknowned for.

Our talks and workshops are always very well attended and this year's have been no exception. These are free to attend and provide a wealth of information, tips and advice for you to take away. The workshops are an opportunity to practice your own planting skills along with excellent coaching from members of the team who are on hand to help.
