Winchester Garden Centre is a very individual garden centre in the heart of the historic city of Winchester. Take the main A31 into Winchester. The Hillier Garden Centre is on the left opposite the hospital and just before the prison! This is one of the most well established garden centres in the country. Edwin Hillier purchased the site in 1874, just 10 years after he founded Hillier Nurseries.

Don't be put off by having to travel into Winchester to reach the centre. We have ample customer parking. Although a relatively small site, Winchester is one of our busiest centres with a wonderful bustling and very contemporary atmosphere.              

Keeping the centre stocked up and well presented requires skilful organisation. This is the job of the manager Phil Golding who has worked for Hillier for many years, and brings a wealth of skill and enthusiasm to Winchester.

The plant area at Winchester deserves a special mention. A number of mature trees form an attractive framework to start with. Winchester was the first Hillier Garden Centre developing out of a nursery on the site. Plants still dominate the garden centre and there is always something special and different available. The plant area is full of corners and separate sections full of interest and new plants. The stock turns over quickly at Winchester. Look around and on every visit you will find something new.

Once you have finished shopping take a break in Winchester Garden Centres small coffee shop which has a very popular range of home made cakes!
